At the county’s premiere gymnastics facility Kilkenny Gymnastics Academy we are delighted to be rolling our next chapter with the introduction of Trampolining to our line up! Trampoline is an incredible and exciting sport. Children can experience the feeling of being upside down, turning, flying and twisting in the air through challenging and fun skills through trampoline. Read on and find out more about this new program which is sure to book out quickly! Our Try It Out classes in December were so popular and fully booked out so don’t delay in booking!
What is Trampolining?
Trampolining is a gymnastics discipline and recognised Olympic sport. Trampoline is one of the most exciting sport there is!
What are the benefits?
Like Artistic gymnastics there are so many benefits from increasing strength and endurance to teaching persistence, developing motor skills to general fitness and core strength which are essential for the sport. Above all trampolining is FUN!
Who can do Trampolining?
Our sessions are for beginners, age limits do apply. Maybe your child already enjoys bouncing on their trampoline at home and you want them to learn skills correctly and safely in a controlled environment or perhaps your child hasn’t yet found the sport for them or they may not find team sports enjoyable, trampolining may be it! Suitable for both boys and girls.
What do you do in class?
Gymnasts will work to develop aerial skills. As beginners gymnasts will learn the basic jumps and seat drop as well as learning the shapes on the floor before on the trampoline. As they develop and improve on strength, accuracy and endurance they will work their way up to somersaults of all shapes and twists! Fitness and core strength is essential for trampolining so there will also be a focus on endurance and strength training to help develop these difficult skills.
